Description PI 3-kinase p85/p55 is a protein encoded by the PIK3R1 gene which is approximately 83,5 kDa. PI 3-kinase p85/p55 is localised to the cytoplasm, nucleus and cis-Golgi network. It is involved in RET signalling, IL-2 pathway, downstream signalling of activated FGFR2, regulation of lipid metabolism and insulin signalling-generic cascades. PI 3-Kinases are a family of lipid kinases capable of phosphorylating the 3'OH of the inositol ring of phosphoinositides. They are responsible for coordinating a diverse range of cell functions including proliferation and survival. PI 3-kinase p85/p55 is expressed in the nervous system, muscle, liver, heart and kidney. Mutations in the PIK3R1 gene may result in Agammaglobulinemia and SHORT syndrome. stj90384 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This primary antibody specifically binds to endogenous PI 3-kinase p85/p55 protein which only binds about Y467/199 when Y467/199 is phosphorylated.
